Henry was friends with a lot of campers, but partners in the art of prank and mischief? Chevy was certainly on the list. “The YOLO campers for one -that sounds like a great shirt idea, Chiron might nix it tho- and those that just want to fight, like the not the ‘ok kid I’m training you, these are the ropes’ but more of the ‘fight me’ types. Oh! also don’t make any bets or contracts during sparring matches with your opponent unless your are 100%clearly understand it. It might be innocent like give me a candy bar or malicious filled like clean the pegasi stables for a month with your toothbrush.” The Hermes camper explained which more often than not it was naturally those who… liked to stir the pot but there were others that worked figuratively behind the scenes. While you could make lasting friendships here, enemies were a nightmare and a pain in the caboose. “Oh! We also also gotta take ya to meet Chiron too.”
Prue smiled a bit and let out a small sound in surprise as the weapon shifted its forms to that of modern look, slipping the glamoured item onto her arm which was surprisingly light was fascinating. She jumped a bit at the sound of a new voice, almost bumping into the wall behind her but remained steady on her feet, turning just a little to see a camper she hadn’t met yet. The boy was either an Older or at least familiar to Freya judging by her reaction, she did a small smile in response to his wave. She didn’t know how long the tour was going to be… but getting acquainted with those who ran the camp was on her list, and seeing how the older camper stated that notion… that probably should have been first on the list. “I actually don’t mind… I got to see everything that came has to offer right? Actually how does the camp keep track of… everybody?” Apart from a good chunk of the campers wearing orange shirts with a stamp on them, maybe a beaded charm of some kind? From the quantity of people and the large cabins… it really must be a headache at times keeping things in line.

Idalia couldn't help but chuckle a bit at Henry's advice. "That's oddly specific... Do you need a new toothbrush, Henry?"
Yarrow was more overwhelmed than amused. It seemed like there was so much to learn and there were quite a few people who wanted to pull pranks. Still, Yarrow was grateful for the warning. He was going to have to be on the lookout and not let his guard down. Yarrow was an easy target for pranks as he was slow to anger or retaliate, and generally went with the flow of things. He wanted to make people happy, and if being their target accomplished that, he would put up with it.
"I've heard the name Chiron before..." Yarrow said slowly. "Actually I think I've studied about him in Greek mythology before? He's HERE?"
Idalia chuckled again - day 1 of summer camp was always amusing. "Yeah, Dionysis might be in charge, but Chiron is like our camp mom. He takes care of all of us."
Henry had a glint of mischief flicker in his eyes, “Well… I didn’t say it was my toothbrush…. Besides that time was…. I was ten so it’s in the past.” He casually shrugged as the young teenager may or may not have taken his revenge on those campers. He looked back at Yarrow, naturally camp at first was overwhelming and it took time to adjust to the new environment. Scaring off a camper was not his forte, besides he only pranked to bring smile to faces or get revenge payback or both. “He’s our activities director, yeah that’s actually a great description of him.” He explained a bit more of Chiron’s role but now a new nickname emerged and he was all for it.

Idalia's amused smiled broke into a grin. "I'd love to see how Chiron reacts to being called Camp Mom. He might just accept it with a resigned sigh, ya know?"
Yarrow was a bit weirded out they talked so casually about someone who was a legend in Greek myth. But they'd probably been at camp enough that it all seemed mundane to them. He was still having a hard time imaging he would ever feel comfortable calling an immortal "camp mom", but his life was already weird. So maybe anything was possible.
In any case, Yarrow was still interested in seeing if he could find a new weapon to accompany his scythe. "So... would you be able to show me where the weapons shed is?" he asked, running his hand nervously through his hair and hoping he wasn't being an annoyance.
The sun was still not fully gone, clinging on barely on the horizon. Sanaa sat back as the campfire had finally lit up, letting out a small sigh. It was usually the Apollo children setting everything up for these, though she didn't really mind. It was nice in a way.
"I think I'm going to die a little on the inside if people sing so off key loudly again," her brother joked, sitting next to her. While he wasn't a kid of Apollo, he was still with them most the time, anyway. Sanaa couldn't help but kind of wish that he tried branching out a bit more, but of course she wouldn't force him to.
"You secretly like it that people don't mind doing that," she shot back in amusement, giving his shoulder a light nudge with hers.
--
Freya, having claimed herself as the unoffical offical guide for Prue, slid over to her after dinner was done. "Next thing happening is the campfire! You like stuff like that?" she asked, looking way too excited about the event herself. Sitting together with everybody was always so fun. She bould barely stand still. But she usually couldn't do that, anyway. The standing or sitting still part.
She was also pointing at people as they passed, telling them to hurry up to the campfire. For a 13 year old, she sure didn't mind bossing people around.
Chevy had gone to her cabin after a wonderful day first of summer; she had sparred, whacked and pranked throughout the day- mind you tha5 the pranks were simple and meant for smiles on faces like the whoopy cushion on their chair for instance. Her mission was getting her stash of kazoos and handing them out at the campfire. Gods everyone was going to love her. She slid one arm under the bed, pulling out a weird mechanical box with an old fashioned code lock. Hearing the ‘click’ sound was not a relief just yet and opened to see…. The contents were still there. Huzzah. No their had tried to steal the stash and ruin her first day back. Laughing with glee she practically skipped out of the cabin with the bag securely in her arms. Everyone’s going to have a great time with these! I’ve got another for everyone in camp! she thought with a smile.

Nathan had been in the infirmary and had just been released. Being injured in sparring or training wasn’t uncommon and he had to admit that he had been eager to pick up the sword again. Not against monsters of course, just his friends and having people who actually know to fight. I wasn’t nearly eager as Chevy he thought and briefly looked down at his left arm. His injuries had been a bruised eye, gut and he had almost broken his arm. The first spars were okay but his last had been with Chevy, she didn’t mean it of course and the ambrosia had done a number plus with their talented healers to keep everything intact and looked almost like nothing happened. Thankful for wearing a heavy set of armor at the time and crashing back into a pile of hay. He checked in with his cabin before setting out to the campfire with the rest of the campers.

“I do.” Prue said with a smile as she had grown more confident and relaxed with her environment, she felt a bit more open with her new friends. Chiron had been very nice and helpful, as have the other demigods she had been introduced too. Some were a bit more… standoffish? Or just kept to themselves but overall it had been a good day. “Will there be marshmallows, singings and sharing of stories?” She asked excitedly, she had moved around a lot with her uncle. Every place was different from the forest to the city, from out in the country to in the city. It had been a mash of places but she did enjoy the camping trips a lot, she didn’t see much as she did in the more crowded places. She had finished with her dinner, scrapping off a portion of it into a fire was new but it basically was like a buffet setup and the automatic drink filler was cool too.
Henry was the counselor of the Hermes cabin, from his half-siblings to the unclaimed demigods that resided within its walls. He was pretty easy going and let older campers help with the tours or guiding of the newer members. He had done his part of making sure nothing got stolen on the first day, 15 times and counting today he had stopped these intrusions. Really it would be only for the first day, then they would be on their own. I nearly took off with some items myself… thanks dad for your thrifty ways he thought to himself with a small sigh. He looked over down the table to see Freya chatting with a new member Prue, “Pretty much everything, it’s always fun. Heh and people say I’m always in a rush- we’re all coming.” He called over to them with a small wave as he got up from the table to leave for the gathering.

Takako arrived as late as she possibly could for the campfire, and sat as far away as she possibly could from everyone else. She'd seen a lot of buddy-buddy interactions taking place here the first day, and so far she'd managed to avoid all of that for the most part. The campfire was a little more difficult with everyone being in close quarters, but Takako was determined to keep her scowl on her face to dissuade others from talking to her. After all, she wasn't here to make friends... she was here to learn how to defend herself.

When Yarrow made it to the campfire, he felt overwhelmed by how many people were there, and he wasn't sure where to sit. He looked around helplessly for a bit before he felt someone place a hand on his shoulder. Nearly jumping out of his skin, Yarrow turned to see Idalia standing there with an amused grin on her face.
"Long time no see, son of Demeter," Idalia said coolly. "Come on, follow me." With that, she turned and started walking closer to the campfire, finding an empty seat and sitting down, patting the spot next to her. "Might as well have a seat."
Yarrow nodded, walked over, and sat down as Idalia had instructed, looking at her expectantly.
Idalia seemed to notice his trepidation. "Just relax and enjoy yourself."
Yarrow nodded again, although he couldn't help but to still feel anxious.

After having spent a good majority of the day following Sanaa around, Hana began to worry she was appearing clingy and annoying. Luckily, Hana knew if the campfire was anything like previous years, now would be a good chance to see everyone gathered all at once and find some other people to talk to easily.
Hana paced excitedly around the campfire for some time before she spotted Chevy running - as per usual- toward them. Now there was a girl who knew how to be social.
"Hey Chevy," Hana waved, running up to meet her. "How has your first day back at camp been?"
Chevy halted her skipping as she neared the campfire and was happy to see campers already gathering. “Hm? Hey Hana! It’s been awesome- expect for accidentally sending Nathan to the infirmary But! He’s ok and he’ll be back to sparring tomorrow.” She said a little sheepishly as she admitted to injuring a camper which had been an accident. She had swung her mallet, he had dodged and kind of fell into the mallet. Apparently he stepped on a shoelace and ended getting hit. Gods that was not 9th embarrassing but really freaked me out… I’m just glade he’s okay she thought with a slight frown but quickly perked back up. “Enough about me, how was yours? Oh! I also brought kazoos and there’s enough for everyone in camp!” She asked then added in her plan, emphasizing it with the bag in her arms and taking one of the items out and handing it to her.

Hana accepted the kazoo gleefully, giving it a little toot after Chevy handed it to her. "My day was great! It's been really quiet and lonely at camp without most of the campers here, so it's so good to see everyone come back."
Well, the Poseidon cabin was still empty besides herself, but Hana hadn't allowed herself to get her hopes up about there being another Poseidon child, as much as she would have loved that.
“Yeah I get that, I try to get back when I can… but Florida’s a long way away and I gotta check in with gramps every so often.” Chevy admitted as she hated the trek but she was always torn between camp where her friends were and home where her grandfather lived; he wasn’t her only living relative. Her mom was… off somewhere, she had a bunch of cousins and other relatives- but only gramps knew who her dad was. “Hmm… I don’t think so? Not personally anyway, only a brief intro and a hi? I kinda stayed my whole time at the arena and stuff.” She shrugged a little as she had gotten excited and had to let it out somehow- smashing things or sparring with a friend. Honestly she was just relived and happy to be back here. “How about you, meet anyone?”

Hana nodded as Chevy explained her situation about being torn between camp and home. It made sense for most campers to go back and forth between the two, so Hana really didn't blame them for something they had no control over. Still, she was going to enjoy every moment she could that she had with her friends here.
"Come to think of it.... I didn't meet anyone new either," Hana said thoughtfully. "I was so caught up in the excitement today, I didn't even realize until just now!" Looking around the campfire right now, she could see there were plenty of new faces, or at least, campers she didn't recognize. She knew the campfire would be starting soon and she didn't know if she'd get to talk to a new camper at this exact moment, but there'd be plenty of time throughout the summer. She just needed to be patient.
Hana turned back to Chevy."Want to take a seat somewhere?"
No new siblings this year, either.., Lucia thought to herself as she was making her way towards the campfire. Of course she hadn't expected it, but it was still sad. Sure, she had Nick and Hana and they were kind of like siblings, weren't they? But they didn't share a cabin or anything.
Humming under her breath, she spotted Nathan up ahead of her. "Fancy meeting up here," she greeted, moving a little faster to catch up with him.
--
"Yeah! Pretty much everybody comes!" Freya said after Henry's input, then started moving. "So let's get going already, before all the good spots are gone!" Not like there were any 'bad' spots, but still. Freya wanted to be able to pick who she would be sitting next to. Maybe some Apollo campers? To mess with their singing? The possibilities were just endless.
"There's a few new campers, I think," Nick said, having overheard Chevy and Hana talking as he arrived. It didn't seem like it was a prviate conversation they were having. For a son of Hades, he'd always been surprisingly social and outgoing. "I met one of them, at least. Freya got to her first and was leading her around. Poor girl." It hadn't been said unkind. Nick was mainly joking, as Freya had the heart in the right place. She was just a little demanding and overly confident, too.
"She's unclaimed, though, from what I overheard," he added. She hadn't looked much younger than Freya, though, so he figured it wouldn't be too terribly long before they found out which godly parent was hers.

Hana looked at Nick curiously at the mention of a new camper he'd seen. Of course Freya had leaped on the opportunity to talk to the new camper, that was too much like her. Hana couldn't help but giggle.
Hana couldn't remember what it was like to be unclaimed, but she imagined it didn't feel great. Especially if you were at Camp Half-blood, surrounded by people who mostly already knew their heritage. Well, at least there was a rule that said they had to be claimed by a certain age now.
"Do you think we'll get to see some campers claimed tonight?" Hana asked excitedly.
“Hey Lucia! How have you been?” Nathan said as he turned to see a camper Lucia ran up to him, they had talked a bit earlier this day but like with everything- they got swept up with the rest of the campers and the events of the first day. Well that and his trip to the infirmary. He had rounded up his cabin mates and they were already joining the campfire. This was the part if the day to unwind, relax, and chat with the rest of the campers. Plus singing, swapping stories, eating roasting marshmallows and enjoying a fire that never went out.
- -
“Alright!” Pure said as she got up from the table and quickly put the tray away, returning back to Freya. She figured where everyone was going but she wanted to go a friend. “Let’s get going then~” she was excited for eating marshmallows and hanging out with friends at the fire. She didn’t have many friends, unless you counted some of the spirits that she met or her uncle. Certainly this would be a more lively event and she could hear from some toots from somewhere, it sounded like a kazoo.
Chevy had nodded to the Poseidon camper but got roped in with their conversation with Nick, new campers were easy to spot most of the time. “Yea that sounds Freya, I bet she’s having a great time.” She often liked to have fun with campers that liked to have fun, we’re loud, mischievous- really anyone she liked to hangout with but the latter attributes meant a partner in planking crime. It didn’t take her long to be claimed but she had watched as it took years for them to be claimed, but she didn’t know much about how it felt. “Oh I hope so! If not tonight maybe sometime this summer. It’s always cool.”
Henry was making his way to the campfire with the rest of the cabin, though it was really just a counselor making sure that the cabin mates got to the campfire- especially the new campers in the cabin who didn’t know where to go. But that didn’t matter either really, they often went to the campfire in the day during the tour, plus everyone was making their way to the campfire. He noticed Chevy had a bag of something as she was chatting with Hana and and Nick, she passed something to each camper that went past her and threw something at him. He caught it and saw that it was a kazoo. Well played Chevy…. Well at least everyone will have it this time, almost endless supply really he thought to himself.

Hana nodded enthusiastically, jumping with excitement. "Isn't it? I love seeing the expression on people's faces when they find out who their parent is!"
It seemed in recent years, more and more kids started getting claimed toward the very start of camp. There was no guarantee it would happen during the campfire, but Hana was pretty sure she hadn't seen a summer go by where no-one got claimed at all.
