"Whoever claims a child before the songs start gets to set the tone for the music," Hana grinned. "What kind of song would Hades like us to play on our kazoos?"
She gave a few toots on the kazoo before realizing they probably wouldn't be able to get much variation out of the simplistic instrument. Regardless, it was still fun.
Yarrow looked up as Henry called out and hopped over to him and Idalia, and gave an awkward smile. "I was pretty shocked," Yarrow admitted. "That was the first time I've seen someone else get claimed... to think it was the child of a member of the big three!"
With a smirk, Idalia nodded and lifted a hand in greeting at Henry. "Truly, the night is off to an unusual and interesting start. But there will plenty more of that for the rest of the summer."
Chevy simply grinned as she looked at her friends, glade to see that the atmosphere was going back to normal- or rather back to its cheery nature around the campfire. She twirled the kazoo in her fingers as she glanced back at the fire, thinking for a moment. Nick did have a bit of a point, the gods that were… had a scary reputation their kids were sometimes ignored or picked on, though she didn’t care about that. “Yeah, ‘cus she’s got a bunch of friends now.” She chuckled then looking back at them. “I dunno what song tho, Nick do you have any ideas?” She tooted on the kazoo with a smirk. “Ya’ll can lead.”
“Yeah claimings are similar in the sense of ‘hey your my kid’ but each is different.” Henry explained with a small smile as he remembered several that he had witnessed, he had even seen Nathan- the young kid went from covered in all sorts of stuff after muddy game of capture the flag than became a shining prince. Quite literally. “But yeah this really is an interesting one that’s for sure.” He heard some commotion behind him, something about music or sing-a-long with kazoos. “And plenty of more singing, or kazooing.” He joked with the instrument in hand.
Nathan couldn’t help but follow after the Zeus camper, “That sounds like fun,” he smiled as he enjoyed sparring and training with others was always fun. He may be the son of Aphrodite, the goddess of love but he had a love for swordfighting and sharing it with others. He was going to introduce himself to the newly claimed camper but got sidetracked by one of his cabin members asking him about something. Well I guess I’ll just talk to the newbie later he thought to himself and gave a quick wave to his friend’s direction then turning back to the camper.

“Nice to meet you Lucia, I’m Prue.” She had been a little shook when the camper suddenly popped up next to her but quickly shook it off. There had been many campers she was introduced too, in the Hermes cabin it had been they were coming out of the walls even. Actually the day had been a whirlwind of names, faces and places. First she only had an uncle, now a father and brother- and now a cousin all in one day. “I guess so,” she grinned a bit at the thought and was actually quite happy. “I’m guessing this sort of thing doesn’t happen a lot.”
"Hmm...my favorite memory? I have too many to count, but i guess, it would be the memory of meeting all you and making friends here on the forums. :3" ”One day I’m going to sit down and make a list of all the books that I finished reading....” “It's going to be a long list...”
"I'm not even sure if Hades is into music of any kind," Nick replied, shaking his head. "He sure doesn't have my taste of music from the few times I've met him." He paused, then seemed to consider something. "We could try getting closer to the campfire now. Seems like the first shock has worn off." He could spot some spots opening up again, at least, campers finally going back to the groups they had been with before. "Let's see if we can find some spot to sit by the newest child of the big three."
"Nope!~" Lucia agreed with a smile. "It's pretty rare to find us at the camp compared to, well, others like Apollo kids or Aphrodite." Not like she was any less excited when those got claimed, but Hades definitely wasn't an everyday occurence. "You'll love it here, though, I'm sure." She couldn't see anybody not being nice to her, especially considering that she was part of the big three now.
She was about to add something else, but was interrupted by a timid voice. "U-um, would you two like some marshmallows for the campfire, too?"
She looked up, seeing Alex, who was pointedly not looking at either of them, the tips of his ears red. "S-Sanaa asked me to pass them around." He looked like he would rather be anywhere else than having attention of him. Glancing past him, she saw Sanaa watching her little brother, obviously having forced him to go around in an attempt to get him to interact.
Leave it to Sanaa to do both that and keep in mind that people often liked marshmallows for the campfire, minimizing the possibility of a bad interaction.
She gave a polite smile to Alex. "Sure, I'll take some."

Hana had been about to ask what Nick's favorite kind of music was, but then immediately got distracted by the notion of going to talk to the new kid. She bounced up and down excitedly, nearly tripping but barely managing to maintain her footing. Clumsy as she was, she used to get flustered at stuff like this but this time she just took off toward the new Hades kid with no hesitation.
Yarrow looked down at the kazoo he had been given and clutched it tightly in his hand. He didn't have much of a knack for music, and had never been in a campfire setting like this, and felt quite a bit of anxiety now. "Got any.. uh.. tips?" Yarrow asked sheepishly. "About the kazoos and singing and stuff, I mean."
Chevy grinned more, she was curious and excited. The following days she would meet the newest campers here, she mostly spent her first day just hanging out here and sparring. “Let’s go then!” With a small clap of her hands and a toot from the kazoo, she followed after her friends down to the campfire. Nick was right that people had started to thin out from the center as the initial shock started to wear down. Gossip would probably keep up for a couple more days which was normal, she only knew this fact because Henry kept her in the loop of what’s going on. She wondered if the newbie Hades camper would share the same powers as Nick, he had pretty cool abilities and when it came to the Big Three Kids- There normally wasn’t a way to see about their inherited abilities. Like the Aphrodite campers- some had a stronger charms peak than others, or some Hermes campers held a stronger urge to steal… or in her case seemed a bit more wild than her siblings.
“Tips? Uhh…. I’m not a music person. I really just do my own thing with everyone.” Henry explained with a shrug, “Really it’s for fun, no competition or anything. Just… do whatever makes you feel comfortable.” He added which he seemed like it was a better explanation, he really just followed along with everyone else- music and singing, no matter how good or bad you are- at the campfire it was a place to have a good time. Besides his cabin, he liked hanging out here with his friends and a few times when he had been down in the dumps, he sometimes felt better after coming here. “And have fun while your doing it too.”
Prue was feeling better now, completely forgetting how earlier she had been thrown into the center of attention and not for the greatest of reasons. She smiled more, she recalled her first entry into the Hermes cabin, it was like a jungle full of kids which she had been relieved that not everyone in the cabin was a child of Hermes. And she had meet other campers as well, and the fewest of campers were the big three kids. She heard a timid voice and turned to see another camper, “Yes please.” The mention of marshmallows she lightened up more- after all it was marshmallows and maybe a new friend too, “I’m Prue by the way.”
"Hmm...my favorite memory? I have too many to count, but i guess, it would be the memory of meeting all you and making friends here on the forums. :3" ”One day I’m going to sit down and make a list of all the books that I finished reading....” “It's going to be a long list...”
Alex gave them some of the marshmallows, maintaining eye contact for only a short while. "Alex," he offered prue, rubbing his wrist. "I'm from the Athena cabin." He did have the smarts to prove that, too, if only there wasn't the social anxiety.
He was about to turn around to move on, though stopped when somebody else called out to him.
Nick gave a wave both to Alex and the two girls, head cocked to the side. "Sanaa put you up to that?" he asked Alex, looking amused. "It's not like we can't pass a bag of marshmallows around ourselves."
He sat down, the same moment Lucia said, "That's true. You can come sit with us and we'll just pass the bag around, how about that?"
There was a pause where Alex blushed, looking away. Finally, he sighed, sitting down. "Alright." He really couldn't say no to Lucia. She was too nice for that.
Happy that she'd gotten what she had wanted, Lucia waved to the others. "Hi Chevy, hi Hana. And hello Nick," she hummed. "I would not have expected you to be the first one out of the big three to get a half-sibling, Nick."
“ Hey! Ah it’s good to see everyone.” Chevy giggled as she followed after her friend with a wave, taking a spot just behind them. “Hiya Prue, I’m Chevy from the Dionysus cabin.” She greeted with a wave and popped in a marshmallow. Cooked or uncooked, marshmallows are delicious. She took a look at the newly claimed camper, the girl seemingly checked off some boxes to being a Hades camper- but hey, she only knew Nick and never met their godly parent so who’s as she to decide. Hmm… is she taller than Nick? She looks tall…. she thought but shook that thought from her head, it was hard to tell a person’s height when they were sitting after all. She tooted on the kazoo a bit, “Ooh, ya know what would be grand? A beach ball, maybe I should bring that next time. Nah the camp store probably has it.” By campstire she meant the official one that the camp sponsored and the unofficial one run by the Hermes cabin. “Or glow sticks.”
Prue smiled, happy and friendly faces- camp was amazing. “It’s nice to meet everyone.” She said politely and truthfully to the campers around her. She felt truly at home here, near the campfire. The smell roasting of Marshmallows, the crackle as the fire burned- it was enough to lull her to sleep and with the adventurous time getting here had been no easy feat. Always keeping her guard up, today had been a great day and she kind of wished it didn’t end. But there was always tomorrow and the rest of summer- even longer if she wished too. It would be safer here…. For now at least…. Maybe just until I can get a handle on…. Whatever abilities I have… she thought to herself and was dying- figuratively to ask her half-brother questions but didn’t want to bombard him with them.
"Hmm...my favorite memory? I have too many to count, but i guess, it would be the memory of meeting all you and making friends here on the forums. :3" ”One day I’m going to sit down and make a list of all the books that I finished reading....” “It's going to be a long list...”

After dropping the bag of marshmallows on the ground when it was passed to her and apologeticaaly dusting it off and handing it to the next camper, Hana took a deep breath to compose herself and waved at Prue. Maybe she'd been too preoccupied to notice Hana's latest mishap.
"Hey, my name is Hana!" she smiled."I'm a daughter of Poseidon, so if you ever need like... water or something... I can help!" very smooth, Hana. Very smooth. She didn't look around at anyone to see how they reacted. Hopefully Nick would just introduce himself to dissipate the awkwardness.
Yarrow tried a couple of tunes on his kazoo, somewhat harmonizing with Idalia and Henry. The unrefined instrument didn't allow for much variety, but Yarrow did think it was a little charming. There really wasn't any need to be anxious about it. And Henry seemed to be having a great time and was pretty chill, which helped Yarrow feel more comfortable.
Idalia sat back and gazed up at the dark sky for a minute. The campfire smoke was drifting toward them and it was starting to hurt her eyes. She was beginning to look forward to the end of the festivities so she keep take a shower and get some rest. "It's been a long day," she remarked quietly. "A good day, but a long one. I think I'll sleep well tonight."
Henry was just having fun, the kazoo was rather great and he was having a good time with his friends. The uncharted music, singing, roasting marshmallows and laughter from the other campers was a good time. Camp was always his second home, the friends he made were like family, he couldn’t imagine where else he would be. While not a big three kid, who monsters constantly dogged after- monsters were still a threat to other demigods and even had some run-ins close to home several times in the past. He pushed the dark thoughts away and paid attention to what was around him, the smiling and happy faces. “Yeah…. The first day’s always the best one…” he hummed a little as he leaned back a little, “We all will…. “ he then yawned, “a I haven’t been this sleepy in awhile.”
"Hmm...my favorite memory? I have too many to count, but i guess, it would be the memory of meeting all you and making friends here on the forums. :3" ”One day I’m going to sit down and make a list of all the books that I finished reading....” “It's going to be a long list...”

Yarrow wasn't sure if he'd sleep well, as he generally didn't sleep well in new places. He'd probably be up all night worrying about tomorrow, despite knowing he'd had a good day today. But tomorrow was when the real serious stuff began, right? He wasn't sure what to expect, but he hoped they'd be eased into it slowly. Or at least, slowly enough for Yarrow.
Idalia nodded at Henry. "I guess everyone runs out of energy at some point, huh." She tucked a braid behind her ear and stood up, giving her limbs a good stretch. "I'm going to head back for tonight, thanks for keeping me company." She gave a warm smile to the two boys.
